Rohnert Park, Calif. – Six players scored in double figures as Sonoma State recorded a 97-61 conference victory Saturday evening over Cal State Monterey Bay. The host Seawolves improve to 2-0 in conference play and 4-2 overall on the year while the visiting Otters drop to 0-2 in conference and 0-6 overall.
The Seawolves opened the nearly triple-digit game trailing the Otters by 8-0 when they strung seven shots together to come back and take a 16-15 lead midway through the half. Running away with the lead Sonoma gained a 16-point advantage over the Otters with under 20-seconds to go.
Sonoma State maintained a sizeable lead and finished the first half making 30 of 44 shots for 68 percent as the Seawolves took a 48-34 lead into halftime.
The Seawolves pushed the lead to 36 at 79-46 with 12:16 to play and finished the game with a 97-61 win.

Mason Phillips paced six Seawolf players in double figures with 13 points each.

Sonoma State finished the game making 38-58 shots for 65.5 percent, connected on 6-of-14 3-pointers to go with 15 for 20 at the free throw stripe.
Seawolves outdid the Otters in points off turnovers 15-2, second-chance points 10-8, bench points 45-23, points in the paint 56-26, and fast break points 16-4.
