Rohnert Park, Calif. – Seawolves struggled to cut the 12 point deficit held by the Pioneers, coming close in the second half with less than a minute left Sonoma State strung five points together to come within five-points of East Bay but fell just short 63-58.
Sonoma State is now 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the CCAA.
The Seawolves offense was once again led by junior
Isaac Davidson who continued his double-digit season with 11 points against the Pioneers, snagging seven rebounds. Davidson averages 15.6 points a game this season.

Lewayne Grant played their fifth double-digit game of the season. Gilbert with 11 points, three rebounds, one block and one steal against the Pioneers. Grant with 10 points, three assists, two rebounds, and one block.
Fueling the Seawolves rally was a vastly improved shooting effort over the final half. After hitting 40 percent of their shots in the opening 20 minutes, they closed the game by nailing half of their last 24 field goal attempts; including two of their five shots from behind the arc. Also aiding in the rally was a 10-for-15 effort at the charity stripe.
The game started to swing in the Seawolves favor midway through the second period.
Jordan Hickman credited two blocks between the 7:00 and 5:00 mark helped steer Sonoma States late push.
With less than a minute left on the clock, Grant featured a layup in the paint to start a brief Seawolf rally, lessening the Pioneers lead to five points 61-56.
During the final 10 minutes, the Seawolves outscored the visiting team 14-12 in pursuit of a comeback. Six of the game's final 13 points came from East Bay free throws, helping the Pioneers to a 63-58 victory over the Seawolves.
The Seawolves host CCAA opponent Cal Poly Pomona Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
