Seawolves Win Twice In Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. -- On Saturday afternoon the Sonoma State Women's Tennis team traveled down to take Oakland to take on the Holy Names Hawks and Mills College Cyclones.

Match #1 -- Holy Names
The Seawolves started of their day by taking on the Hawks of Holy Names, they jumped off to a quick 2-1 lead by taking two of the three doubles matches. Jensyn Warren/Carolyn Brooner defeated Jahan Bayramova/Dominique Ernst in the doubles one match (8-0). Katherine Long/Hannah Highsmith defeated Amandine Clouvel/Macy Barajas (8-2).
The Seawolves only needed to win three singles matches. Jenna DeTurk clinched the match for the Seawolves when she defeated Eliza McKean in the singles four match (7-6 (7-5), 6-3). Katherine Long defeated Julia Golub in the five match (6-0, 7-5). Hannah Highsmith defeated Macy Barajas in the singles six match (6-3, 6-4).

Match #2 -- Mills College
The Seawolves second match of the day came against the Mills College Cyclones. The Seawolves defeated the Cyclones 9-0.
The Seawolves won all three of the doubles matches Clarisa Collang/Jenna De Turk defeated Grace Deaton/Dana Culpepper in the doubles one match (8-0). Katherine Long/Hannah Highsmith defeated Roxana Farmer/Brita Decuir in the doubles two match (8-0). Lastly Julie Rea/Jennifer Kingsley defeated Maya Ibrahim-Bartley/Deluis in the doubles three match (8-0).
In singles match play all the Seawolves won their respective matches 6-0, 6-0. Clarissa Colling received the start in the singles one position and defeated Grace Deaton. Jenna DeTurk clinched the match for the Seawolves when she defeated Dana Culpepper in the singles two match.

With the pair of wins the Seawolves improve to 15-6. The Seawolves will travel to Davis when they take on Division I school UC Davis. First serve will be served at 1:00 pm.
