Azusa, Calif. – Sonoma State and Biola University faced off for the second time in program history, ending in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-11) loss for the Seawolves to conclude the 2018 West Region Showcase.
Sonoma put up a fight in set two when
Emily Eaton and
Jenna Miller strung together three kills to take a 6-5 lead. After Biola tied the set 8-8 Tate Battitstini helped the Seawolves to an 11-8 lead with two kills. With the set tied 20-20, the Eagles took hold of the set winning 25-21.
The Seawolves offense was led by Battistini and Miller, Battistini totaled 11 kills on the evening, and Miller recorded 24 assists.

Sonoma State returns to The Wolves Den Tuesday, September 4th for its conference opener against the Jacks of Humboldt State. The Jacks finished last in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) last season and are currently 2-2 on the season. The Seawolves currently lead the all-time series 47-14 against the Jacks. In the last three years Sonoma has won the past six matches.
