Rohnert Park -- Sonoma State held off Stanislaus State in a 68-65 win at home. The Seawolves battled back from a 15-point second-half deficit to force three lead changes in the game, including one lead change in the final three minutes when Sonoma regained the lead for good.
How It Happened: Sonoma State shot 43.6 percent (24-for-55) from the floor, while the Warriors went 23-for-62 (37.1%) from the field. From beyond the three-point line, the Seawolves were 5-for-19 (26.3%), and the Warriors finished 8-for-23 (34.8%). Sonoma State posted 71.4 percent at the charity stripe, as they made 25 trips to the line, making 11 free throws in the game.
Turning Point: Sonoma State trailed for most of the game, as Stanislaus led the game 25-18 at the half. With 4:30 left in the game, the Warriors held a three-point lead at 53-50.
Lewayne Grant rose to the occasion, as he scored six of the Seawolves next 10 points.
Deshawnte Collins sealed the game by making one free throw on the other end, extending the Seawolf lead to one possession, at 68-65. The Warriors missed two three-point attempts with the clock running down, to bring the final to 68-65.
