Rohnert Park, Ca- The Seawolves got off to a fast start , slowed down in the 3rd set but caught fire again in the 4th set to defeat Monterey Bay 3-1 in the Wolves den Wednesday night.
The hitters were good tonight for Sonoma State with
Tate Battistini (17 kills) coming up with some clutch attacks throughout the match but it was the defense from
Ashleigh Phelps that led the way for Sonoma State.
Phelps finished the night with 24 digs for SSU.
"Really excited about the defense and serve reception from
Ashleigh Phelps. We won the serve and pass battle with the pressure put on by
Emily Eaton all night," Said Coach
Bear Grassl after their 3rd conference win. "It was a hard fought win."
The Seawolves hit the road for key conference matches Friday and Saturday vs Chico State and Stanislaus respectively.
