Rohnert Park, Calif. – Seawolves split CCAA series against Humboldt State Monday, dropping game one 8-6 and winning game two 10-2 in five innings.

Game One: Humboldt State 8, Sonoma State 6
Despite out hitting the Jacks 11 to 8 the Seawolves were outscored in the day opener.

After allowing Humboldt State to cross the plate in the top of the first, Sonoma State capitalized on a Jack error, smart base running and a pair of timely hits to gain a 3-1 lead.

A squeeze bunt in the top of the second brought the Jacks within a point of the Seawoves 3-2.

Alee Balanon added to Sonoma States lead (4-2) with an RBI triple to score
Briana Avalos.

The Seawolves gave up three hits and five errors in the game's final three innings to dig themselves an 8-4 hole.

A four-hit two run seventh inning rally fell short as
Jordann White singles through the left side to score
Cameron Kirtlan and
Jordyn Martinez took advantage of a wild pitch to score.Â

Game Two: Sonoma State 10, Humboldt State 2
Although the Jacks opened game two with a two run Homer to left field, the Seawolves outscored them 10-2 in a five-inning run rule mercy.

In the bottom of the first, Balanon scored off a sacrifice fly ball to center field by Martinez. The Seawolves added two more, on a pair of hits by
Lindsey Calcany Blair (single through the left side) and White (double).

The second triple of the day, Kirtlan cleared bases loaded in the second to score
Julie Davis,
Briana Avalos, and
Courtney Jack for a 7-2 edge over the Jacks. Martinez brought in Kirtlan with a sacrifice fly to center field to give the Seawolves a six-run lead.

Cassidy Romano in the third with a single and then Balanon hit a walk off double to center field in the fifth to score
Nicole Renner.
