Santa Rosa, Calif. – Seawolves improve 5-9 overall and 4-7 in the CCAA after beating Cal State San Marcos 10-7. The series continues Sunday, a doubleheader starting at 11:00 am at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Cal State San Marcos 4, Sonoma State 2
In the first Sonoma States,
Kory Brown and
Zach Guardino scored off a single to left field by Pridy for an early 2-0 advantage over Cal State San Marcos.
The score remained 2-0 in favor of the Seawolves until the top of the fifth when Cabot Van Til singled to right field to score Jake Rico, then Ott singles to left field to score Van Til and Nashea Diggs to gain a 3-2 lead.
The score saw no change until the top of the eighth when Buck singled to left field to score Van Til and make it a 4-2 final score.
Sonoma State 10, Cal State San Marcos 7
Game two was a turnaround for the Seawolves' offensive efforts. In the first inning, Guardino homered to left field.
The Cougars answered back in the second with a homerun of their own, but with someone on the bases, they added two to the board for a 2-1 lead.

Dan Deely off a double to left center to tie the game.
Back-to-back singles by Danny Johnson and Griffin Teisher brought home two runs to put Cal State San Marcos up, 4-2.
The Seawolves were back at it again in the sixth.
Matt Hill stroked a single up the middle which scored Josh Lenney and
Drew Downing to tie the game 4-4. Before the sixth concluded Deely homered to score himself and Hill to give the Seawolves a 2-point edge.
After Cal State San Marcos put up two runs in the seventh, the Seawolves added on again.
A four-run seventh inning and three pitching changes for the Cougars was the turning point for the Seawolves.
Anthony Clyma led off the inning being hit by a pitch, then crossed the plate when Downing singled through the left side. After a second pitching change and two wild pitches, Downing scored off a single by Hill to make the score 8-6. Next, at bat Lenney scored off a sac fly to center by Medina. The Seawolves added one more before the inning came to an end, Hill scored off a fielder's choice to bring the score to 10-6 entering the eighth.
The Cougars rally in the 8th fell short, adding one more before the inning ended making the final score to 10-7.
