Seawolves Dropped Series Finale

Rohnert Park, Calif. – In its final last home conference game of the season Sonoma State fell 7-6 to Cal State East Bay, the Seawolves took time before the game to acknowledge its 10 seniors.
 
Sonoma State is now 21-21 on the season and 19-18 in the CCAA.
 
Following a three-up-three-down first inning, the Seawolves put four runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning for an early lead over the Pioneers. James Harwell led off with a single to center; he was then thrown out on a fielder's choice hit by Dan Deely, Deely advance to second on an error by the shortstop to get in scoring position. Zach Guardino got on by way of an error by the third baseman. With runners on first and second, Kory Brown singled up the middle to bring Deely home for the first run of the game. Patrick Tolbert then doubled to left center to score Brown, Matt Hill grounded out to first to score Brown, and Josh Lenney singled through the right side to score bring in the fourth run.  
 
Cal State East Bay cut the Seawolves lead in half with a two-run fourth inning (4-2). 
 
With two down and a runner on Deely singled through the right side to score Harwell (5-2).
 
The Pioneers chipped away in the fifth and sixth adding a run an inning to get within one run of the Seawolves (5-4).
 
The game remained 5-4 until the top of the ninth when the Pioneers strung four hits together for three runs and its first lead of the game 7-5.
 
Brown led off the bottom of the ninth with a single through the right side; he was brought home off an error by the Pioneers shortstop. The Seawolves fell 21-21 on the season following its 7-6 loss to the Pioneers.
