Seawolves Punch Ticket to Conference Tournament

Rohnert Park, Calif. – Sonoma State punched its ticket to CCAA conference tournament with its series win over Stanislaus. The Seawolves split its Saturday doubleheader with the Warriors, they won game one 1-0 with a solo home run in the first inning by Alee Balanon, and then they dropped game two 3-1.
 
The Seawolves finished the regular season 31-18 overall and 21-15 in the CCAA.
 
Sonoma State is the No. 4 seed at the CCAA tournament; they are scheduled to play Thursday, May 2nd at 2:30 p.m. against No. 5 seed Cal State Monterey Bay in Seaside. 
 
Game One: Sonoma State 1, Stanislaus State 0
In the bottom of the first Alee Balanon led the Seawolves off with her eighth home run of the season, giving the Seawolves a 1-0 lead. Balanon is now ranked fourth in the conference in home runs.
 
 
Camille Rodriguez picked up her eighth win of the season, with a seven-inning shutout performance from the circle.
 
Cameron Kirtlan recorded two of the Seawolves five hits going 2-for-3 at the plate.
 
Game Two: Stanislaus State 3, Sonoma State 1
The Warriors took hold of an early 3-0 lead over the Seawolves in the first, with a bases-loaded single that brought in two and scoring on a Seawolf error for run three.
 
Despite out hitting the Warriors 5 to 4 the Seawolves lone run didn't come across the plate until the bottom of the sixth when Jordyn Martinez reached on a fielder's choice to score Julie Davis (3-1).
