Seaside, Calif. – Sonoma State advance in the winner's bracket after beating Cal State Monterey Bay 5-3 in the first round of the CCAA tournament. The Seawolves are scheduled to face top seed UC San Diego Friday, May 3rd at noon.

The Seawolves allowed three runs in the second inning giving up a hit and a pair of RBI errors.
Teresa Danenberg took to the mound with one down and bases loaded allowing only one run.

Courtney Jack knocked a double down the right-field line to score
Cassidy Romano and cut the Otter lead to 3-1.
Sonoma State held the Otters from crossing the plate for the remainder of the game.
Following a three-up-three-down top of the fourth, the Seawolves strung four hits together to score three runs and take a 4-3 lead. The Seawolves at-bat began with three singles,
Lindsey Calcany Blair singled up the middle (3-2) to score
Nicole Renner.
Alee Balanon hit a sacrifice fly ball down the right field line to score Romano and tie the game 3-3.
Julie Davis was behind in the count when she singled to the third baseman to score Calcany Blair (4-3).
Balanon knocked her ninth home run of the season, over right field to add to the final score 5-3.
Danenberg recorded her sixth win of the season.
