Milestone 400 Wins for Head Coach Jennifer Bridges

San Marcos, Calif. – Sonoma State opened its away series against Cal State San Marcos with a 6-3 win, then claimed game two 9-3.

The Seawolves are now 23-9 overall and 13-6 in the CCAA.

Sonoma States 9-3 win in game two marked a 400-career win milestone for head coach Jennifer Bridges.

Over the last ten years, Bridges has led the softball program to eight straight NCAA tournament appearances and a pair of CCAA tournament championships.  Before coming to Sonoma State, she was the head coach at Whittier College, an NCAA Division III program, where she compiled a 45-35 record, bringing her overall head coaching record to 400-234-1 (354-199-1 at Sonoma State) in 11 seasons, a .630 winning percentage.

The Seawolves Jordyn Martinez put up three home runs between the two games one in the opening game and a pair in game two. Martinez joins teammates Jordann White(7), Lindsey Calcany Blair(4), Cassidy Romano(4) and Alee Balanon(4) in the conference's top-10 in home runs.

Martinez brought Davis home with a first pitch two-run homer over right center 3-0. Cassidy Romano drew a walk then scored off an RBI single hit by Nicole Renner to the second baseman (4-0). Avalos singled to place Renner in scoring position; Jack then doubled to left center to bring Renner across the plate (5-0).

The Cougars struck back in the following two innings, adding one in the second with a solo homer and then another two in the third inning with a two-run home run (5-3).

Jordann White took the Seawolves insurance into her own hands when she hit a shot over left center in the 5th for the final run of the game (6-3).
