San Diego, Calif. – The Seawolves run at NCAA Regionals comes to an end. After defeating Central Washington 5-0 in an elimination game the Seawolves faced UC San Diego in an all or nothing matchup to continue on to the Regional Championship, they fell 5-2.

Sonoma State 7, Central Washington 0
A shutout performance by
Brielle Vidmar in the circle helped the Seawolves to a 5-0 win in an elimination game. Vidmars 20th win on the season (20-8).

The Seawolves scored its first run in the second, when
Jordann White scored on a wild pitch.
Â
Sonoma State outhit the Wildcats 13 to 4, making no errors in the field.

In the third
Cameron Kirtlan drew a walk, followed by a stolen base to put herself in scoring position.
Jordyn Martinez then singled to shortstop to place Seawolves on first and third. White singled to left field to bring Kirtlan home for Sonoma States second run of the game.

The Seawolves extended its lead by three with three hits in the sixth.
Lindsey Calcany Blair led off the inning with a single to center field; then she advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt put down by
Courtney Jack.
Alee Balanon singled to left field to put Seawolves on the corners. The Wildcats intentionally walked Kirtlan to load the bases with two outs on the board. The next Seawolf at the plate, Martinez, doubled to left field to clear the bases and add three runs to the Seawolves lead.Â

UC San Diego 5, Sonoma State 2
Vidmar tossed a three up three down inning to the Tritons to start the game off.Â

UC San Diego gained a 3-0 lead in the top of the third off four hits and one Seawolf error.Â
Â
Sonoma State cut the Tritons lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the third with a solo home run over center field by
Courtney Jack and an RBI double to left center by Martinez to score Kirtlan.

Following two scoreless innings, the Triton struck again in the sixth adding two runs to the board (5-2).Â

The Seawolves season ended 36-20 overall.
