Seattle Pacific, WA- The Seawolves' first game of the season against Seattle Pacific resulted in a tie after two periods of overtime on Friday, September 5th, in Interbay Stadium. The Falcons and the Seawolves had a constant back and forth battle keeping the score 0-0 until the second half. Seattle Pacific scored a goal early on in the second half and the Seawolves continued their attack until their goal by Eduardo Rodriguez in the 89th minute.
Kyle Owings assisted Rodriguez on a beautiful corner kick which Rodriguez volleyed to the top of the net through the Falcons goalie's grasp.
Head coach Marcus Zeimer was happy with his teams fighting spirit and says, "I was proud of how we never quit. After we gave up the goal it was a wave after wave in the attack and we kept pushing until we got the equalizer".
The Seawolves strong offense and defense were both factors in the close game and Marcus credits his hardworking defenders; Evan Roehrig, Devin Anderson, Chava Gomez and Teto Gonzales to the low score along with his goalkeeper Derik Engbretsen who made some great saves.
The Seawolves take on Western Washington University this Saturday, September 7th at 7:00.
