Turlock- In the series finale, SonomaState came back in the 9th inning to tie it 6-6, but eventually lost in the 11th 7-6. The Seawolves fought hard and made it a great back and forth game all the way to the end.
SSU got the offense going in the third as
Joshua Medina singles in two, followed by a
John Abate Sac Fly and a
Ben Sanderson RBI base hit through the right side. When the dust settled Sonoam State led 4-1.
The lead was short lived however as Stanislaus came back with 3 of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Sonoma State trailed 6-5 going to the ninth and
John Abate delivered his second Sac-Fly of the day to tie it up.
Two extra innings later, the Warriors punched across the winning run to take the series 3 games to 1.
Head Coach
John Goelz was particularly happy with the bull pen in the late innings, " Josh Medina and
Andrew Trahan pitched extremely well and we had some chances to win it, we just could come up with a big hit when we needed it," He said.
The Seaswolves are looking forward to a big 4 game series starting on Friday with UC San Diego coming to town.
