Rohnert Park, Ca- Down 3-0 in the 4th, Sonoma State put together a 4 run outburst to take the lead, on the way to a 7-5 win over the 4th ranked Tritons. The big hit came with bases loaded and two outs,
Jake Hernandez ripped one into left field and after a missed dive for the ball, the merry-go-round was set in motion. Hernandez ended up with a triple and the score was tied. Hernandez scored one pitch later on an error by the UCSD shortstop giving SSU the lead.
San Diego tied it back up in the 5th and took the lead in the 6th. But once again the Seawolves would rally. Hernandez singled to right, driving in
Isaiah Morales who led off with an infield hit. After a wild pitch put runners on second and third, Josh Medina singled to right field giving SSU the lead 6-5.
Ben Sanderson would drive in a big insurance run with a ground out to the right side, scoring Hernandez.
With the Seawolves up 7-5 closer
Andrew Trahan took the mound in the 7th. Following a lead off walk, Trahan recorded two strikeouts and ground out to end the game. Trrahan registered his second save of the year and Josh Medina (1-0) earned the win in relief.
It was a big morale booster for the team after a rough start to the series on Friday and a 3-0 shutout loss in the first game of the day.
