San Marcos, Ca- The Seawolves jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on the way to a game one 12-3 victory over the Cougars. For Head Coach

Drew Downing got the party started with a first inning RBI double to left centerfield driving in lead off man
James Harwell. Then in the 4th Trevor Mallet got the green light on 3-0 and doubled down the line bringing home
Dante Peretti and SSU led 2-0.
Later in the game,
James Harwell would drive in 3 more Seawolves, one with a single to center in the fifth, then another with a single to right in the 6th and finally a bases loaded walk in the 8th. After after that it was 6-2 SSU. Sonoma State continued to rally in the 8th scoring 6 more times, topped off by a
Dante Peretti homer to left center.

Jake Dent (1-2) was solid, going 6.2 and only walking 2 Cougars on his way to his first win of the year.
Sonoma State opened up the running game big time, stealing 6 bags in the game, which was the first of two. San Marcos won the nightcap 10-8, thwarting a furious SSU comeback in the 9th inning.
The teams will meet again for a doubleheader on Saturday.
