CSUSM got one run back in the bottom half of the inning off starter Jesse Dupuis but Linnane didn't let that game stay at one run for long. She led off the top of the second inning with a solo homerun to centerfield to make it 3-1. Sonoma State added another in the third inning with Hays reaching on an error and scoring on a single by Mirtoni.
Dupuis cruised through the second and third innings and Linnane was back at it in the fourth, once again leading off the inning with a solo blast to extend the lead by another run. Leading 5-1, Dupuis allowed one run in the bottom of the frame but left with a 5-2 lead.
Nichole Sarra did the rest, closing out the contest with three scoreless innings and picking up her second save of the season.
Dupuis improved to 5-0 on the season and earned her second win of the week with four innings of work. Linnane's two homeruns pushed her team leading total to five.
