ROHNERT PARK, Calif. –

Nichole Sarra combined to allow just six hits and one unearned run in a pair of victories for the Sonoma State softball team. The Seawolves swept Dominican on Friday afternoon, winning 1-0 in the first game and 2-1 in the nightcap.
Reed was completely in control from the start, retiring the first 13 she faced on her way to a one-hit compete game shutout. Reed struck out a batter in each of the first five innings. Offensively the Seawolves picked up their first two hits in third inning on bunt singles by
Cassidy Romano and
Anna Zoia-Buescher but came away empty handed.
Sonoma State broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth, finally getting to Dominican ace Shelby Keltner.
Reagan Hunt led off with an infield single and advanced to second on a throwing error. Zoia-Buescher followed with a walk to put who runners on for
Rylee Nishimoto. Nishimoto came up with the big hit, dropping an RBI double over the infield to score Hunt.
The Seawolves got out of the sixth with
Jordyn Martinez throwing out a baserunner trying to steal second and Reed shut the door in the seventh but forcing the game ending groundout with two runners on. She finished the game with seven innings pitched, one-hit allowed and five strikeouts.
Sarra took to the rubber in the second and shutdown the Dominican offense. The Penguins took an early lead, plating one in the second inning on a throwing error but that would not last long.
Giana Hays led off with a single and promptly stole second. She advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a squeeze bunt by
Lauren Mirtoni to tie the game at 1-1.
Sarra did not allow a run from there, retiring 15 of the next 19 batters she faced to send the contest into the bottom of the seventh. Romano led things off for the Seawolves with a line drive single to center and stole second two pitches later. Hunt bunted her over to third to bring up Zoia-Buescher with the winning run 60-feet away. Zoia-Buescher then delivered her second walk-off in the last three games, laying down a perfect bunt to score Romano.
Hays finished the game with a team high two hits and a stolen base while Zoia-Buescher and Mirtoni added a hit and an RBI each. Sarra allowed just five hits and an unearned run while striking out four to earn her second straight victory.
