Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls to #25 Cal State Los Angeles 0-2

LOS ANGELES, CALIF.- Sonoma State Women's Soccer squared off against the recently ranked Golden Eagles of Cal State Los Angeles. The Seawolves have been undefeated over their last seven games behind a stifling defense. The team took on the nation's 25th ranked squad and despite the loss, they played with a great combination of aggressiveness and confidence. For the match the Seawolves took 12 shots, six on goal and also earned 11 corner kicks.

While they were unable to find the back of the net, the Seawolves dominated in terms of shots, shots on goal and corner kicks. Olivia Wilson battled all game and led her team's offensive sets behind four shots, all of them on goal. Wilson has now earned starts in five consecutive matches and will look to stay aggressive as she looks for her first goal of the 2024 season.

The other two Seawolves to get shots on goal were the teams reigning CCAA Honorable Mention recipients. Julia Betti and Ashley Frye have anchored a defense that has only allowed three goals over their last seven games prior to today's match. While they have been stellar on defense, the pair looked to get involved on the offense side of the pitch. Frye and Betti combined for three shots with two of them on goal.

Coach Emiria Salzmann's team will look to get back to their winning ways as the teams southern California road trip resumes. Next on the docket is a matchup against the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills this Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 AM!
