Men’s Basketball Falls in High Scoring Battle with Chico State

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.- The Seawolves faced off against one of the top teams in the CCAA with the Chico State Wildcats making the trip to the Wolves Den. The 40 minutes of gametime saw both teams make huge plays, score plenty of points and give fans an exciting matchup!

As has been the case for the past few weeks, Chris Holley has continued his outstanding play as the team's lead guard. Holley did everything asked of him as a primary ball handler including scoring a team high 18 points, dishing out a game high eight assists and coming up with three steals. Again, not only was his playmaking imperative for the Seawolves offense but it was the security in which he controlled the ball that remains elite. Holley only committed a single turnover despite playing in just over 33 minutes of game time.

On top of Holley's continued excellence, the Seawolves shooting has continued to reach new heights. The duo of Jack Schultz and Aaron Ragen were once again on fire with the duo combining for six made threes on 12 total attempts. Ragen was also a force on the glass as the six-foot-two guard played with an unstoppable motor. His energy and effort led to five big offensive rebounds and he also had four assists for good measure.

Off the bench, junior guard Nick Medieros has embraced his role as the team's spark plug and scored 13 points to go along with five assists. Medieros has provided coach Shayewitz with a second unit leader capable of getting his own shot or getting others going. His breakout season now includes 12 double digit scoring efforts as well as shooting just under the coveted "50/40/90" mark.

The team's attention now turns to their upcoming four game road trip. The Seawolves will first look to take on the Warriors of Stanislaus State down in Turlock!
