Biography

JUNIOR (2012-13):  Appeared in 26 games, making 12 starts and averaged 21.2 minutes a game ... Was the team's third-leading scorer at 10.5 points per contest while leading the team in rebounds (5.6/game) and blocks (21) ... Recorded the second-best single-season field goal percentage in program's history (61.6 percent) and is second on the all-time list for best career FG percentage (59.7 percent).

SOPHOMORE (2011-12):  In his first season as a Seawolf, Herold was an electric player that kickstarted the team's fortunes ... was named First Team All-CCAA and became the school's first CCAA Newcomer of the Year… after missing the first seven games, he played his first game against Cal State Stanislaus (12/17/11) and scored nine points, gathering four rebounds … received a consistent starting job on (1/12/12) against San Francisco State, proceeding to drop 19 points, corralling six rebounds … eventually led the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game … had double-digit points in 15 games including a season-high 26 points … tallied three double-doubles on the year … led the team with 24 blocks ... the team went 12-4 after he joined the starting lineup on Jan. 12, 2012.

HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE:  Enjoyed a tremendous career at Maria Carrillo HS in Santa Rosa ... named North Bay League Most Valuable Player as a senior ... also honored as the league's top defensive player ... established new school records for scoring, rebounding, and blocks ... also attended Cal Poly Pomona and Santa Rosa JC, though he did not compete.

PERSONAL:  Chose to play at Sonoma State because it is close to home ... Lists Phil Jackson as the person he'd most like to meet ... is a fan of the San Jose Sharks ... Favorite athlete is Carmelo Anthony ... Listens to the music of J Cole ... Enjoys sushi and frequents Boathouse Sushi ... Likes the movie Coach Carter and watches the TV show River Monsters ... Is a fan of actor Denzel Washington ... An interesting fact is that he listens to his music before every game "to get in the zone".
