Biography
2011: Had a strong junior campaign in the Seawolf blue in 2011 … appeared in all 30 matches for Sonoma State … earned First Team CCAA All-Conference honors … put up the second most kills on the team (357) … averaged 3.18 kills per set and had a season average of .319 … contributed 57 digs, eight assists … had 30 blocks, including 7 solo blocks ... slammed double-digit kills in 17 of 30 matches in 2011 … hit a single-match season-high attack percentage (.600) on San Francisco State … ranks second all time in kills with 1190 and is only 239 from the number one spot (Christina Difani-1429), a record that has been held since 1998.
2010: Followed her freshman season with another outstanding season as a sophomore in 2010 ... a CCAA All-Conference First Team selection ... named the CCAA's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-24 with 30 kills in two victories over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus ... led the team in 2010 with 336 kills and finished fourth in the CCAA in kills per set (3.46) ... tied a career record with 25 kills in a five-set loss to UC San Diego (10/15/10) ... had double-digit kills in 19 of the team's 27 matches ... rejected 40 attacks at the net, 16 of them solo ... had a .240 hitting percentage for the season ... finished the season at 10th on the all-time list for most kills in a career (778) ... CCAA All-Academic Team.
2009: Arguably the most dominant freshman outside hitter to come through Sonoma State … selected to the CCAA All-Conference Second Team and the AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention Team … shattered the record for most kills by a freshman with a team-leading 442 (previously 304 by Marianne Fox in 2007); the second-best single-season mark in program history … ranked 18th nationally and fifth in the CCAA in kills per set with 3.95 … blasted a career-high 25 kills in a five-set loss at San Francisco State (9/18/09) … had 15 or more kills in 16 of the Seawolves’ 31 matches … recorded 32 total blocks … named CCAA All-Academic.
HIGH SCHOOL: Came to Sonoma State as a highly touted prospect from Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa ... helped guide the Pumas to a North Coast Section Championship as a senior ... earned Empire Player of the Year honors as a senior ... also named Most Valuable Player of the North Bay League.
PERSONAL: Is the younger sister of Kristy Sather, an All-American for Sonoma State in 2008 ... picked Sonoma because she thought it was the perfect fit for her ... considers her family to be her biggest influence as an athlete ... enjoys the work of J.K.
