Sonoma State University Athletics

The Varsity S Club is an exclusive group of past and present Sonoma State University student-athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, athletic trainers, and administrators formed for the purpose of building enthusiasm for Sonoma State University Athletics.  The Varsity S Club does this through a variety of philanthropic, fundraising, and social events designed to strengthen SSU Athletics.

The Varsity S Club is a division of the Sonoma State Athletic Association and exists to support the academic and athletic endeavors of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.  Members of the Varsity S Club are invited to social functions such as membership mixers that are developed to raise interest in fundraising to support athletic scholarships.  In addition, the Varsity S Club generates school spirit by promoting increased attendance at sporting events and building overall enthusiasm for Sonoma State University Athletics.  Keeping the gates of success open for our current student-athletes is a way of creating many of the same opportunities that existed for our alumni.

Academic Excellence, Community Outreach, and Competitive Success.  Like SSU Athletics, these are the cornerstones of the Varsity S Club. 

Why "Varsity S"?
The letter "S" creates a common bond for all that have participated in intercollegiate athletics while representing Sonoma State University.

Membership in the Varsity S Club is open to any individual who has competed in varsity athletics at Sonoma State University, as well as any past member of the cheer team, athletic training, or administrative staff.  In addition, anyone that joins the Sonoma State Athletic Association (SSAA) will also become a member of the Varsity S Club.
