Harold "Bear" Whitfield is in his third season as an assistant coach for the Seawolves in 2010-11 season. Whitfield was recently the freshman and junior varsity coach at Hart High School in Newhall, California. He has also coached at John Burroughs High School and Taft High School.
Whitfield comes to Sonoma State with a wealth of camp experience, participating in the Let My Play Baskeball Camp in London as well as the Five Star Camp and team camps at UConn, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
Whitfield played basketball at John Burroughs High School from 1997 to 1999. He was also a member of his school's golf team.
He is a 2005 graduate of Cal State Northridge with a B.S. in Health Sciences.
