Biography
FALL 2010: Got his senior season out to a blistering start with three straight top four finishes...took individual medalist honors at his first event, the Western Washington Invitational, by shooting a 67-71-69--207...established a new career record with a 65 at the UCSD Triton Invitational on his way to a third place finish...honored as CCAA Golfer of the Week for September 22-28...shot an average round of 70.5 in the fall.
2009-10: Earned All-America honors for the third consecutive year, becoming just the second athlete in Sonoma State history to accomplish that feat...was also a PING All-West Region and All-CCAA selection...led the Seawolves with a 74.0 stroke average and was their top finisher in six of 12 events...the Seawolves’ top finisher at the NCAA Division II National Championship, shooting 74-74-76-78--302 for 13th place...grabbed individual medalist honors at the TMC Mustang Invitational after firing a 72-69-74--215...named CCAA Golfer of the Week after his peformance at the Mustang Invite...was second at the CSUB Elco Invitational...finished in the top ten eight times and in the top five four times...average round 74.0
2008-09: No sophomore slump for Bauer as he was named an All-American for the second consecutive year...also earned PING All-West Region and All-CCAA honors...finished third at the NCAA Division II National Championship after shooting a 71-72-76-71--290...led the Seawolves in five tournaments...placed fourth at the NCAA West Regional and third at the CCAA Championship...carded a career-best 66 during the CCAAs...his average round is the best in school history by an athlete not named Jarin Todd...went under par 16 times...finished in the top ten at nine of his 13 events...earned his first individual medalist honor at the CSUMB Otter Invitational, shooting a 70-74-71--215...named CCAA Golfer of the Week for March 12-18...average round: 72.10.
2007-08: Turned in a phenomenal freshman season...named an All-American, becoming just the second freshman in school history (any sport) to earn the honor...also picked up PING All-West Region honors...named CCAA Freshman of the Year as well as SSU Male Freshman Student-Athlete of the Year...came on strong late in the year...earned his highest finish at the Buzzini-Stanislaus Invitational, shooting a 71-69-75--215, good enough for second place...placed fifth overall at the NCAA West Regionals at Adobe Creek in Petaluma...tied with Jarin Todd for team-leader honors at the regionals...was SSU’s second-best golfer at the NCAA Division II Championships with a 74-72-74-70--290...had seven rounds under par...average round: 73.22.
HOMETOWN: Comes to Sonoma State from Colfax High School in Colfax...was a four-time All-League selection for the Falcons...named First Team All-Metro for the Sacramento area as a junior and senior...league MVP as a senior.
PERSONAL: Chose Sonoma State because he liked the location and golf program...is a big fan of Tiger Woods and Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets)...his most memorable sports moment was receiving All-American honors last year...as a superstition, he always carries four tees in his pocket...hopes to one day play on the PGA Tour...born 10/12/89.
