Biography
2008-09: Moved into the No. 1 singles spot and responded with a very strong season, going 12-10 overall...also went 9-1 in doubles...reached the semi-finals of the ITA Fall Regionals...swept UC San Diego’s No. 1 players, Kazumi Negishi...his .526 career winning percentage is sixth on the all-time list...owns 30 career singles victories to rank fourth and 39 doubles victories to rank third on the charts.
2007-08: Tied for the team lead in singles victories with 11...was 9-7 overall at No. 2 and 2-3 at No. 3 singles...posted 14 doubles victories with teammate Jeff Stollberg...went 8-6 at No. 2 doubles and 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
2006-07: Named SSU Athletics’ Male Freshman of the Year after an impressive rookie campaign...compiled a 7-7 overall singles record at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions...posted his first collegiate victory in a 5-4 win over Western New Mexico (3/16/07)...teamed with Brandon Buskirk to go 15-5 in doubles competition.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa...was a two-time All-Empire selection for the Vikings.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Criminal Justice, he would like to practice law after graduation...is a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and tennis star Andy Roddick...his goals for the 2010 season are to maintain his national ranking and advance to the NCAA Regionals.
