Ashley Britton

  • Title
    Assistant Softball Coach
Ashley Britton is entering her first season as an assistant coach for the Seawolves in 2012.

A former two-year softball student-athlete for Sonoma State, Britton earned Daktronics All-West Region and All-CCAA First Team honors as a senior in 2010 for her role in helping the Seawolves capture the program's first-ever CCAA tournament title. During that same event, she set new tournament highs in RBI (8) and total bases (16), while also tying the record for most home runs (3). Her efforts were recognized by being named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team.

That season, Britton was the Seawolves' second-best hitter, batting .353 with eight home runs and recorded a program-record 46 runs batted in, the second-best mark in the CCAA. Not only was she one of the main offensive threats for Sonoma State, but she was one of the best defenders in the conference. At third base, Britton assisted on a conference-high 143 putouts, making just 10 errors for a stellar .940 fielding percentage.

In her first season with the Seawolves in 2009, Britton hit .226 with six doubles and tied for the team lead in home runs with two. Prior to her two-year stint at Sonoma State, she was a two-time First Team All-Conference performer for the Vikings, ranking second in the state in home runs as a sophomore in 2008.

A 2010 graduate of Sonoma State with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, Britton is a native of Campbell, Calif.
