Katie Turtle returns for her third season on the Sonoma State women's soccer coaching staff in 2013, although this is her fourth season overall, as she was also an assistant coach for the team in 2005.

An All-League and All-Empire selection at Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa, Turtle went on to play at Santa Rosa JC and UC Santa Barbara.  Following her playing career, Turtle joined the coaching staff at Santa Rosa JC in 2003 for the first of her two stints with the Bear Cubs.  In 2005, she served alongside Emiria Salzmann as an assistant under head coach Luke Oberkirch, before returning to the JC from 2007-10 as the top assistant.  

Turtle is also involved with Sonoma County Alliance, where she has coached since 2008.
