Amy Gutierrez, better known as Amy G, joined Sonoma State University as a Marketing and Communications Officer for Athletics in 2026. An 8-time Emmy-award winning producer, reporter and host, Gutierrez is best known for covering the San Francisco Giants as an in-game reporter from 2008-2020, before becoming a team
host, producer and ambassador from 2020-2025. She served as a national correspondent for MLB Network and from 2023-2025 joined the Sacramento River Cats as their first female Color Analyst. She is a seasoned host and emcee for various organizations and causes throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

In her Bay Area broadcasting tenure, Amy has covered a variety of teams including the A's, Warriors, San Jose Sharks, Raiders, and 49ers.

Gutierrez is a storyteller at heart and her 25+ years of experience in broadcast television has transitioned seamlessly into the world of virtual and in-person event hosting, keynote speaking and brand partnerships where she can bring a different perspective to a company’s mission. Amy G. also produces and hosts content needs for UCSF Health, hosts her own podcast, “Girl, How’d You Get That Gig?!” where she interviews women in the sports industry about their career paths and “Life Without Limits” an educational podcast with United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay about resources available for families with developmentally and intellectually disabled members.

Gutierrez is a small business owner of a social media marketing company and has served as a Communications Department Lecturer at Sonoma State University since 2019, teaching Public Speaking, Sports Broadcasting and advises the Sonoma State Star, SSU’s student-run newspaper. Amy G is the best-selling author of ‘Smarty Marty’s Got Game’, a children’s book that teaches kids to love the game through scoring the game. In 2015 she released ‘Smarty Marty’s Official Gameday Scorebook’ for baseball fans across the nation. In 2017 she released her first
chapter book titled, ‘Smarty Marty Steps Up Her Game’ and in 2024 published the latest in the Smarty Marty series, ‘Smarty Marty Takes The Field’. Amy G. is also a social media influencer and was named a 2020 Sonoma County “Social Media Star” by the Press-Democrat.
