No. 16 Seawolves Tie Warriors, 1-1

TURLOCK, Calif-  Sonoma State got a goal from Ross Middlemiss to tie Cal State Stanislaus 1-1 in CCAA men's soccer action on Friday afternoon in Turlock.  The result leaves the Seawolves at 13-5-1, 12-2-1 CCAA while the Warriors, in their quest for a CCAA Tournament berth, go to 9-8-2, 8-5-2 CCAA.

Sonoma State has already wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the CCAA Tournament, to be played October 27th-29th in La Jolla.

The Warriors got on the board first when Ross Crown scored off a Kishin Hamaguchi assist in the 38th minute.  The game would stay 1-0 until 16 minutes into the second half when Ross Middlemiss got his second goal of the year, off an assist by Andrew Bailey.

Brett Cook had a chance to win it for Sonoma State with a penalty kick with just 1:15 remaining in double overtime.  However, Cook's shot clanked off the post and the Seawolves were denied.

Mason Hill-Harrill got the start in goal and made his season debut a solid one.  The senior saved five shots in 110 minutes of action.

Sonoma State held a 17-11 advantage in shots for the game and got off four shots in the first overtime, but nothing landed in the net.

The Seawolves close out the regular season on Sunday against rival Chico State.
