ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team moved back to .500 with an 11-8 win over La Verne this morning in the day two opener of the Seawolf Splash Tournament.
The Seawolves had eight players score a goal,
Samantha Mullins and
Jessica Scott ewach scored two.
Sam Burchard,
Kiane Taparra, Roxanna McEwen,
Laurel Stricklin,
Jenna Bole, Tasha Theile and Alexandrina Brookbank each scored one.
The Seawolves (6-6, 2-4 WWPA) opened the match up with six goals in the first period and another in the second to take a 7-5 lead at the break. Sonoma State held off the Leopards in the second period for an 11-8 win.
Sonoma State is back inaction this afternoon in the tournament finale against Cal Maritime at 1:30 pm.
