No. 18 'Runners Snap Seawolves Winning Streak

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team saw its four game winnings streak come to an end Saturday morning as the No. 18 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners pulled out a 10-6 win in the opener of the Slug Fest hosted by UC Santa Cruz.

The Seawolves (7-7 overall, 2-5 WWPA) hung tough with the Roadrunners in the first half, only trailing 6-5 at the break. The 'Runners made their move in the second half, limiting Sonoma State to only one goal while posting one in the third period and three in the fourth to win the match 10-6.

Sonoma State was led offensively by Jessica Scott who recorded her fifth hat trick of the season. Roxanna McEwen, Laurel Stricklin and Jenna Bole each recorded one goal.

Sonoma State is back in action this afternoon against Occidental at 3:00 pm.
