SAN JOSE, Calif- San Jose State defeated Sonoma State 8-1 in non-conference women's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon in Rohnert Park. The win lifts the Spartans to 8-11 on the year. The Seawolves drop to 8-9 on the year.
The Seawolves were shorthanded, playing the match with five players due to an injury to
Raquel Gottfried. SJSU won the two doubles matches that were played and they were awarded a point due to a default by SSU at No. 3 singles.
SSU's lone win came from
Amy Belsher at No. 3 singles. The freshman improved to 12-4 on the year in singles play with a 3-6, 6-2 (10-5) win over Amber Silverstone.
The Seawolves close out the regular season on April 21st when they host UC Santa Cruz.
