Fox's 29 Kills Not Enough In Loss To Crusaders

Marianne Fox had the second-highest single match kill total in school history
ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Marianne Fox turned in the second highest kill total in school history (29), but it wouldn't be enough as Sonoma State lost to Northwest Nazarene on Friday night in five.  The Crusaders improve to 2-0 with the win as they are the lone unbeaten left in the Seawolf Spike.  The Seawolves fall to 0-2.

SSU's school record of 33 kills was set in 1997 by Chris Difani.

NNU took game one, 30-27 before dropping the next two 30-22 and 30-28.  The Seawolves had the Crusaders on the ropes in game four, but lost it 30-28.

In game five the Seawolves had no answer for the Crusaders who ran away, 15-5.

Fox's 29 kills came against just seven errors in 68 attempts.  She hit .324 for the night, well above SSU's team average of .165.  Taylor Manton had 37 digs and Lindsay Brown set a career-high with 54 assists.

Cammy Dranginis led four Crusaders in double digits with 16 kills.  Allison James had 45 assists and 18 digs.

NNU plays two games tomorrow and the Seawolves play twice on Sunday.
