Softball Rips Northwest Nazarene, 11-1

RICHLAND, Wash-  Sonoma State plated seven runners in the seventh inning to take an 11-1 win over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at the Central Washington Invitational in Richland, Washington.  Nicole Cordova had three hits, including her first collegiate home run as the Seawolves improve to 7-8 on the year.

Cordova's home run to left field led off the second inning and tied the game at one.  SSU would add another run in the second on a Kelsey Morhman sac fly.  SSU tacked on two more in the sixth, then went to town in the seventh.  Kayla Ledford and Brittany Simao each had two-run doubles as the Seawolves made it a rout.

Ledford turned in her second solid pitching performance of the tournament.  She allowed just five hits and one run in seven innings while striking out five.

The Seawolves face Saint Martin's later on Saturday.
