Women's Tennis Blanked By UC Davis, 7-0

Haley Hickock and the Seawolves were shown no mercy by UC Davis
DAVIS, Calif- The Sonoma State women's tennis team lost their second match to a division I opponent this year at the Marya Welch Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon, falling to UC Davis, 7-0. The Seawolves drop to 5-4 overall, while the Aggies improve to 10-8 on the year.

In doubles play, The Aggies were able to secure the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. At No. 3, Jenna Kappel and Andrea Phillips started things in a positive way, blasting Stephanie Hoffmire and Jeanette Peck, 8-0. UC Davis clinched the doubles point when Sidney Brady and Desiree Stone teamed to dispatch Dana Carollo and Haley Hickock, 8-4.

UC Davis swept all the singles matches in straight sets, ensuring a 7-0 shutout. The only competitive matches for Sonoma came at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. The Aggie duo of Legaspi and Kappel each one their matches by identical scores of (6-2, 6-2), over Molly Maguire and Peck respectively. At the No. 5 singles spot, Jessica Harris of UC Davis defeated Jessica Harris of Sonoma State 6-2, 6-1 (no relation, purely coincidence).

Sonoma has a quick turn around, as they host Hawaii-Hilo tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
