LOS ANGELES, Calif- The Sonoma State women's tennis team concluded their Southern California road trip by dismantling Cal State L.A. Saturday afternoon, 9-0. The sweep improves the Seawolves record to 5-3 overall, 3-2 in CCAA action, while the Golden Eagles drop to 1-4, and 1-3 in CCAA play.
In doubles play, Sonoma was able to breeze past Cal State L.A. with relative ease. The only true test the Seawolves received was at No. 3 doubles, as
Stephanie Hoffmire and
Jeanette Peck were able to post a victory against the Golden Eagle tandem of Lana Lamesic and Marine Prevost, 8-5.
Sonoma State parlayed their doubles success in to six straight set victories in singles action to secure the shutout.
Jessica Harris and
Mary Bulich each won both of their matches by identical scores of 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots respectively. At No. 3,
Molly Maguire needed a little more effort to defeat her opponent, dropping Linda Majzlikova 7-5, 6-2.
The Seawolves return home to battle division I UC Davis on Mar. 11. First serve against the Aggies is set for 1:30 p.m.
