Women's Tennis Rolls Over Coyotes, 7-2

Stephanie Luk and the Seawovles split on their Southern California road trip
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif- After suffering a close loss to Cal Poly Pomona in the opening match of their Southern California swing, the Sonoma State women's tennis team bounced back in an impressive way Saturday afternoon against Cal State San Bernardino. The Seawolves downed the Coyotes 7-2, to improve to 10-9 overall and 5-4 in the CCAA.

Sonoma swept through Cal State San Bernardino in doubles to take a commanding 3-0 advantage. Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire teamed for their seventh victory at No. 1 doubles as they defeated the Coyotes Leslie Horn and Brittany Choate, 8-6. Dana Carollo and Haley Hickock also earned an 8-6 win at No. 2, while Mary Bulich and Stephanie Hoffmire dispatched their opponents, 8-5 to secure the sweep.

Luk, Carollo, Bulich, and Jessica Harris provided the wins for Sonoma in singles play, as the Seawolves held on for the 7-2 victory. Luk won (6-3, 7-5), Carollo was a (6-4, 6-4) winner, Bulich prevailed at No. 4 (6-1, 6-2), and Harris won by retirement (6-2, 5-1).

Sonoma State will close out regular season play against Cal State Stanislaus tomorrow. First serve at Seawolf Courts will be at 1:30 p.m.
