Doubles Domination Carries Seawolves To Victory

LOS ANGELES, Calif-  A clean sweep in doubles set the tone on Saturday afternoon as Sonoma State picked up a big road victory in CCAA women's tennis, 6-3, upsetting 33rd-ranked Cal State L.A..  The win lifts the Seawolves to 2-1, 1-1 CCAA on the season.  The Golden Eagles drop to 0-1, 0-1 CCAA.

All three of the Seawolves' victories in doubles came by 8-4 scores.  The winning pairs consisted of Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire at No. 1, Haley Hickock and Jessica Harris at No. 2, and Jeanette Peck and Stephanie Hoffmire at No. 3.

The Seawolves, who came into the season ranked 44th in the ITA Division II Women's Tennis Top 50 preseason poll, clinched the victory with wins at No. 2 (Hickock), No. 5 (Hoffmire), and No. 6 (Harris) singles.

Up next for Sonoma State will be home match against the Spartans of San José State.
