Women's Tennis Falls To San Jose State, 7-2

Stephanie Luk scored her first singles victory this season.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Stephanie Luk picked up her first singles victory this season and Jessica Harris also notched a singles win on Thursday, but San Jose State swept the doubles competition and won four other singles matches to earn the 7-2 victory over Sonoma State. The Seawolves even their record at 2-2 this season.

The Seawolves couldn't get much going in doubles play, but Luk gave Sonoma State its first win of the day with a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Olivia Marshall. However, the Spartans grabbed the match victory with wins in the two-through-five spots before Harris nabbed a singles victory in the sixth spot (6-3, 6-2) over Jennifer Williams.

Haley Hickock pushed Kerri Kummer to a tiebreaker in the No. 2 singles match, but fell short in the extra frame, 10-6.

Sonoma State will return to CCAA competition on Friday when it hosts UC San Diego, beginning at 1 p.m.
