ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The 45th-ranked Sonoma State women's tennis team had little trouble on Wednesday afternoon, dispatching 50th-ranked Dixie State 9-0 in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves improve to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in west region play. The Red Storm snap a four-match winning streak, falling to 6-6.
The Seawolves got the day started with three victories in doubles action. Jeannette Peck and
Stephanie Hoffmire were the most decisive winners, taking their No. 3 doubles match by an 8-2 final.
In singles play, all six Seawolves won in straight sets.
Stephanie Luk prevailed 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 to set the tone.
Haley Hickock at No. 2 (6-1, 6-2), Maguire at No. 4 (6-0, 6-1), and
Jessica Harris (6-0, 6-1) were among the big winners.
The Seawolves return to the courts this weekend with a pair of important CCAA road matches. Sonoma takes on Cal State San Bernardino on Friday and Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday.
