ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Starting their second dual match in just five hours, the Sonoma State women's tennis team had little trouble dispatching Cal State San Bernardino, defeating the Coyotes 5-1 under the lights at the M Section Courts in Rohnert Park. The match was decided in singles play, so given the late hour, doubles were not played out. The Seawolves improve to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
The Seawolves took easy victories at the top as
Stephanie Luk and
Haley Hickock cruised to victories by scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively.
The Coyotes picked up their lone victory at No. 3 singles, where Isabella Fraczek came back to defeat
Jeanette Peck, 0-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Stephanie Hoffmire clinched the match win for Sonoma with a victory in a second set tiebreaker. After being down 5-1, she rallied to win the tiebreaker, 8-6.
The Seawolves return to the courts on Sunday when they head to Turlock to take on Cal State Stanislaus.
