ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Thanks to a strong effort from the bottom of the lineup, the Sonoma State women's tennis team defeated Cal State L.A. 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves took four of six singles matches to improve to 9-5 on the season. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-10.
Though the Golden Eagles would earn an 8-4 win at No. 1 singles, the Seawolves would take the two and three spots to go up 2-1 heading to singles.
Again Cal State L.A. would thrive at the top of the ladder as Christie Lau and Lauren McShane knocked off
Dana Carollo and
Anastasia Eliseeva at No. 1 and No. 2. However, the Seawolves depth shone through with victories at the three through six places.
Megan White (No. 3),
Haley Hickock (No. 4),
Brooke McBride (No. 5), and
Stephanie Hoffmire (No. 6) earned the wins to send the Seawolves to their fifth win in their last seven matches.
The Seawolves will close out their three-match weekend homestand on Sunday when they host Notre Dame de Namur.
