LA JOLLA, Calif-  Sonoma State got singles wins from Dana Carollo and Brooke McBride, but it wouldn't be enough to upset UC San Diego as the Tritons rolled to a 7-2 victory on Thursday afternoon in La Jolla.  The Seawolves, currently ranked 48th in the nation, drop to 11-9 on the season while the Tritons improve to 10-8.

Carollo got the victory at No. 1 singles by storming back from a 6-0 defeat in the first set.  Her subsequent 6-2, 10-7 wins lifted her to 7-9 on the season at No. 1 and completed a season sweep of UCSD's top player, Taskeen Bains. 

McBride earned her point with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Roxanne Pourmirzaie at No. 5 singles. 

The Tritons grabbed the momentum early in the day by sweeping doubles play.  Haley Hickock and Dana Carollo put up a valiant fight at No. 2 before falling, 8-6.  Stephanie Hoffmire and Brooke McBride were also competitive at No. 3 in an 8-4 defeat.

The Seawolves will close out spring dual schedule on Saturday when they host Hawaii-Hilo in Rohnert Park.
