Brooke McBride forced her opponent to a tiebreaking set, but fell 10-3, and Nevada earned victories in all other matches to sweep Sonoma State, 7-0, on Sunday at Caughlin Club in Reno, Nev. The Seawolves fall to 10-6 this season with three of their six losses coming against NCAA Division I opponents.
McBride won the first set 7-5, but lost in the second 1-6 and sufferend the defeat in the tiebreaker (3-10). It was the closest match of the afternoon, with the exception of
Dana Carollo and
Haley Hickock at No. 2 doubles, who lost 8-5.
Sonoma State's match against Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. The Seawolves will next face UC Santa Cruz on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Rohnert Park.
