ROHNERT PARK, Calif.
--  The Sonoma State women's tennis team hasn't skipped a beat, despite playing four matches in four days.  It was no different on Monday afternoon, as the Seawolves, ranked 38th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)/NCAA Division II poll, blew past visiting Dixie State, 8-1.  Sonoma State has won three of its last four matches, moving to an even 6-6 this season (and 4-4 against in-region opponents).

The Seawolves got off to a quick start on Monday, sweeping all three doubles matches with ease to take the 3-0 match lead.  The duo of Lauren Ha and Sheena Johnson have been the most consistent as of late; with the 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Dixie State's Sierra Smith and Kristen Nichols, Ha and Johnson have won four straight doubles matches (8-5 overall in 2011-12).

In singles play, the success continued as Megan White (6-2, 6-2) at No. 1, Krista Cole (6-3, 6-1) at No. 2 and Stephanie Hoffmire (6-2, 6-0) at No. 4 earned wins in straight sets to clinch the match victory and give SSU the 6-0 lead.  Brooke McBride (3-6, 6-3, 6-0) overcame a first-set loss to win at No. 3 singles, as did Ha (3-6, 6-4, 6-1) at the No. 5 spot.  Lauren Shafer, who on Monday made her fifth appearance in a dual match this year, won the second set after falling in the first, but the comeback was stopped short by Dixie's Sierra Smith (6-2, 1-6, 6-1), giving the Red Storm their only point of the afternoon.

Sonoma State, which has outscored its opponents 25-9 since Friday, will take a short break before heading to Turlock on Saturday to go to battle with the 34th-ranked Warriors of Cal State Stanislaus (3-2).  First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.  Following the match in Turlock, the Seawolves will fly to Hawai'i for three matches in four days (Mar. 24-27) to play #5 Hawai'i Pacific, #49 Chaminade and Hawai'i-Hilo.
