TURLOCK, Calif. --
Lauren Ha cruised to a convincing 6-1, 6-2 win in straight sets at No. 6 singles, but No. 43 Sonoma State couldn't find a point elsewhere, despite a pair of hard-fought matches by
Krista Cole and
Brooke McBride that saw a tiebreaking third set, as No. 33 Cal State Stanislaus posted an 8-1 victory on Sunday afternoon in Turlock. The Seawolves fall under .500 at 8-9 this season and 6-7 against in-region opponents.
Ha dominated the Warriors' Lindsey West, rolling to her fourth straight singles win; she improves to 13-8 this season. Meanwhile, at No. 2 singles, Cole overcame a 7-5 loss in the opening set to win 6-3 and force the tiebreaker, but Cal State Stanislaus' Davina Meza would be too much, taking the 5-7, 7-3, 10-6 win. McBride also went to extra sets, but after winning the first set and losing the second. She then fell in the tiebreaker to Katie Eng to lose at No. 4 singles (6-2, 2-6, 10-8).
Sonoma State will now play its next eight matches at home in Rohnert Park, before ending the 2012 season in San Francisco at Academy of Art on Apr. 22. The Seawolves will kickoff their homestand on Friday when they host two matches -- Mills College at 10:00 a.m. and UC Santa Cruz at 2:00 p.m.
