ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- The Sonoma State women's tennis team used an all-around effort on Sunday to post a 6-3 victory over visiting Dominican at the SSU Tennis Courts in Rohnert Park.  Brooke McBride, Stephanie Hoffmire and Lauren Ha scored a pair of wins in both singles and doubles play to improve the Seawolves' record to 12-11 overall and 8-9 against in-region opponents.  Dominican falls to 2-9.

The duo of Hoffmire and McBride won their fifth straight doubles match with a convincing 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles, alongside another 8-3 win for Ha and Sheena Johnson at No. 3 doubles.  Dominican's Irina Morozova and Gaby Verspieren, who are the 10th-ranked doubles team in the west region, held off Megan White and Krista Cole for the Penguins' only doubles point.

Morozova and Verspieren grabbed wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for Dominican, but not without strong resistance from White and Cole; it would be the only other points for the visitors from San Rafael.  McBride (6-0, 6-1) won easily in straight sets, as did Ha (6-0, 6-1) and Lauren Shafer (6-2, 6-2).  Hoffmire (7-5, 4-6, 10-5) was forced to a third-set tiebreaker, but came out on top to win her fifth straight contest, finalizing the 6-3 triumph over Dominican.  The senior from nearby Novato (Hoffmire) is also just one win from 50 career victories.

Sonoma State will host Hawai'i-Hilo on Tuesday at the SSU Tennis Courts; first serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
