ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Megan White pulled off an upset in straight sets at No. 1 singles and the pairing of Lauren Ha and Sheena Johnson scored a 7-2 win at No. 3 doubles, but the 43rd-ranked Sonoma State women's tennis team couldn't snag a point elsewhere in the 7-2 loss to 21st-ranked UC San Diego on Senior Day at the SSU Tennis Courts in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves move to 13-12 this season and 9-10 against in-region opponents with just one match remaining in the 2012 season.

Along with the 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles by Ha and Johnson, seniors Stephanie Hoffmire and Brooke McBride nearly put SSU up 2-1 after doubles play, but after trailing 8-7, UC San Diego's duo of Tara Vanooteghem and Melinda Chu rallied for two straight points to win the match, 9-8.

In singles, White defeated Melissa Breisacher, who is ranked 16th in the region, by scores of 6-4, 6-4; it was White's second win against a regionally-ranked opponent this season.  It would be the only other point that the Seawolves would get, however, as the Tritons won the rest of the singles matches in straight sets.

Sonoma State will wrap up the season on Sunday when it travels to San Francisco to square off with 42nd-ranked Academy of Art.  First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
